You can get involved today by volunteering or by making a donation.

Our vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.

Our mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with measurable impact.

The power of the match

Recently, Big Brothers Big Sisters board leader and Good Morning America anchor Kate Snow delivered an incredibly powerful match impact story on national TV. She interviewed Chester Ross and David Loughran of White Plains, NY, who were matched by our Westchester, NY, agency in 1979 when Chester was 65 and David was 7. At the end of her Good Morning America piece, Kate articulates how Big Brothers Big Sisters relies not only on volunteers, but on donors to make match relationships successful.

Please view this video and remember how your support helps to make a lasting difference for individuals, their families, and their communities.

I encourage you to volunteer or donate to make a difference in a child’s life.

our impact on children

Bigs and Littles have fun together — and create memories that last a lifetime. We call it “Little moments … Big magic.” Research on our volunteer programs points to the powerful, positive, lasting impact Bigs have on children’s lives. Littles are:

  • 52% less likely to skip school
  • 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
  • More likely to get along with their families and peers
  • Are 27% less likely to begin drinking alcohol
  • Are 33% less likely to hit someone

a few facts

  • Littles range in age from 6 to 17
  • There are no fees for BBBS services
  • BBBS offers free monthly outings to all matches, i.e. rafting, ice skating, pumpkin carving, horseback riding, holiday parties, etc.
