Our vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.
Our mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with measurable impact.
School-Based Mentoring Program
“In our lives, each of us was touched by someone, other than our parents, who broadened our horizons and brought a little magic into our lives. By becoming a Study Connection volunteer, you can do the same for a child. You will both be forever changed by the experience.” - Study Connection Mentor
What is the School-Based Mentoring Program?
The School-Based Program is a partnership between Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Durango 9-R School District. Study Connection matches children with mentors to improve the student’s academic achievement, school attendance and self-esteem. The match meets once a week for an hour on the same day, at the same location and time. Matches work on school work, play games or just talk.
Requirements for Volunteers:
Volunteers are 15 years of age or older
