Q. Do I need experience with children to be a Big? |
|
|
A. No,
If you are a caring and fun person, that is all you would need to be a Big. |
|

Q. What do I do if I have questions about my match? |
|
|
A. Call your Match Specialist and ask him/her. We are always here to help. |
|
|
Q. What happens if I have to miss a week? |
|
|
A. If you miss a week b/c of a busy schedule, just call your Little during the week you are not available and reschedule for the following week. |
|

Q. What is the time commitment for volunteers? |
|
|
A. Our agency asks that all volunteers have the ability to meet with their Little a minimum of 8 hours a month. |

Study Connection |

Q. Do I need to be an educator to volunteer for Study Connection? |
|
|
A. No, all you need to be is a friendly, caring, and responsible adult. |
|
|
Q. How much time does a volunteer need to commit to? |
|
|
A. A volunteer is expected to give one hour, one afternoon a week (the same day and time every week) for the school year (excluding holidays and school vacations).
We also offer several ways of staying in contact with your Study Buddy during the summer. |

Q. In what schools is Study Connection offered? |
|
|
A. Study Connection operates at all 11 schools in the Durango 9-R School District (Elementary, Middle, and High School). |
|
|
Q. What tools do I receive to assist students with their academics? |
|
|
A. You will receive input from teachers through a journal system. Training in tutoring and mentoring is also offered as well as support from professional case managers. |
